So if you spend any time in Central London you’ll know you’re likely to find the French bakery Paul’s on every corner. One of the few places to sell French bread and fresh baguettes, the bakery also serves one of my favourite cakes.
Their version of the classic Fraisier cake is made with a Genoese sponge which is layered with cream and strawberries and topped with a lime green marzipan. The cake is a pleasure to eat as it’s so light and just the right amount of sweet (not overpowering). You can easily have a whole slice without sharing.
If you’re ever grabbing a cup of coffee at Paul’s I recommend ordering a slice on the side.
P.S Paul’s also sell Fraisier cakes (6 -48 servings) if you wanted it for a party, or if one slice isn’t enough.
