Manchester – Home Sweet Home

Great brunch! The minute I walked into Home Sweet Home I was overwhelmed by all the different treats they have on offer. Every table I passed had great breakfasts and shakes. Then there is the counter which displays a range of tasty looking cakes.

A lot of places in London offer the classic Eggs Norwegian for breakfast but I also find avocado the perfect pair to salmon – smashed avocado and smoked salmon being my easy weekend choice. Lucky for me this place offered Eggs Cali, under their Bennies section. Eggs Norwegian with avocado, peppers and chipotle sour cream. Yum.

We also tried the Salt Beef hash made with hash potatoes, salt beef, poach eggs, jalapeno mustard, pickles and relish (available at the Northern Quarter branch). The presentation looked messy but my husband thinks it may be the best breakfast he’s ever had.

Sadly we had no room to try the tempting cakes. Go with an empty stomach!

There are two branches in Manchester, one in the Northern Quarter and one labelled the Great Northern. The Great Northern takes bookings whereas the other does not. If you do book a table don’t make the same mistake as us and end up going to the wrong one! As a note, the two branches have two slightly different menus.

This place has a balance between traditional brunch options, served with a little extra.

Menu varies between branches.
